100,000-DWT Giant Oil Tanker Launched After Record 14-Day Overhaul

A 100,000-deadweight-ton oil tanker was successfully launched after the completion of its major overhaul at the dry dock of the Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Complex (ISOICO), setting a remarkable record for repair duration and becoming ready to resume crude oil transportation operations.

According to the Public Relations and International Affairs Department of the Iran Shipbuilding and Offshore Industries Complex (ISOICO), the repair and maintenance operations on this strategic vessel, which included comprehensive and major technical overhauls, were completed within just 14 days. Achieving such a timeline for a tanker of this scale represents a new benchmark in the country’s maritime repair industry and reflects the high level of expertise and technical capability of domestic specialists in marine repair services.
Measuring 248 meters in length, 43 meters in width, and 19 meters in height, the massive tanker entered the dry dock and underwent a series of complex technical processes before returning to the national operational fleet with renewed readiness and enhanced performance capacity.
The dry dock flooding and launching ceremony of the vessel was carried out under the direct instruction of Dr. Agha Mohammadi, Member of the Expediency Discernment Council, and was attended by Dr. Ashouri, Governor of Hormozgan Province; Engineer Ghasemi, Head of the Hormozgan Organization of Industry, Mine and Trade; along with the CEO and senior executives of ISOICO.
